【2015／3／19】The 5 Day Art Challenge on Facebook

　２日目は、いくつかのギャラリーや美術館で、言語の組み合わせを換えながら発表した「地表の肌理」シリーズ。

「地表の肌理」 2008、板橋区立美術館、東京

　上空から眺める地表は、まるで織物のように美しい。

　しかし、さらに降下すると破壊し合った２つの土地が見えてくる。

　がれきの街は「どうしたら互いにわかりあえるのだろう？」という意味の、ふたつの異なる言語でできている。

　どのような民族であれ、人間はとても似通っていて、文字の並び方の違い程度のほんのわずかな差なのではないのか？

　ご紹介するのは、スウェーデンのアーティストBodil Halvarsonさん。

　ノルウェイの国際野外展KUNST I NATURE 2011で出会い、本人も作品も浮世離れした魅力がありました。

　これを機会に、作品をもっと知りたいと思います。

“The 5 Day Art Challenge on Facebook” The second day, I show you my work Terrestrial Tapestry. It’s a series of works, I change the languages depends on the work. Terrestrial Tapestry, 2008, Itabashi Art Museum, Tokyo The view from the sky shows us various colors and textures like tapestries. When we dive down, we see two lands those were destroyed by attack each other. The ruins are composed by 2 different languages meaning “how can we understand each other?”. The difference between human beings in the world is as subtle as the distribution of fragments in the composition of words. Today, I nominate Bodil Halvarson. I met her in KUNST I NATURE 2011, she participated in it from Sweden. I'd like to know her works more!

　３日目は、外国人の集住地にて、風俗店が撤退した空き店舗に設置した作品。

　窓から見える街も作品に取り込む。

　人の波が寄せては返す都会の雑踏。

「グレイの海」 2008、西川口プロジェクト、元キャバクラ空き店舗、川口、埼玉

　かつて「安全な国」と言われた日本も今や、周囲の人が信用できるのか判別できないグレイの人の海が広がる。

　このなかにテロリストがいるが、怪しいのはどの人？

　その答えには、人の持つ先入観と偏見が現れる。

“The 5 Day Art Challenge on Facebook” The Gray Sea 2008, Nishikawaguchi Project, a closed cabaret, Kawaguchi, Saitama The 3rd day, I show you my work installed at a closed cabaret, including the sight of the town. I expressed the crowd in gray color, it means we can't distinguish who is suspicious. The audiences notice their prejudices when they try to distinguish terrorists among this gray crowd. ‪

　私と同様、福島での活動を継続されています。

【2015／3／28】The 5 Day Art Challenge on Facebook

　４日目は、変化を余儀なくされた福島・東北を見続け、人々の精神性を探ろうと、ひと冬を福島県会津地方で暮らして生まれた作品から。

「心のことば」 2013、精神の＜北＞へvol.1、三十八間蔵、喜多方、福島

　一昔前までこの地域の女性は、棉（わた）から着物にするまでの、緻密で根気の要る膨大な手仕事の積み重ねを、家族のために営んでいたそうだ。

　棉〜糸〜反物〜着物〜寝間着〜おむつや雑巾〜灰として肥料〜棉…棉を巡る、手仕事を伴った果てしないサイクルを想像してみる。

　地域に伝承される様々な物や事を織り込みながら繰り返す日常は、まるで手仕事の積み重ねのようだが、そこで聞く人々の言葉に心の機微を感じることができる。

“The 5 Day Art Challenge on Facebook” ‪#‎5daysartchallenge‬ On Talking from the Heart 2013, Spirit of “North” project vol.1, Sanju Hachi Kengura, Kitakata, Fukushima The 4th day, I show you my work that I continue to stay focused on Fukushima and the entire Tohoku region that was forced to change, while also exploring the spirit of the people by being close at their side. I gave plenty of thought to the endless cycle of the cotton, which involved tremendous, minute manual work carried on by the local women for their families for generations, until several decades ago. From the voices of the people, I felt the subtleties of their feelings that derived from their routine daily lives, which were interwoven with a variety of local traditional traits.

　５日目は、板橋区立美術館の現代美術企画シリーズvol.2を、コミッショナー兼作家として、夫・丸山常生とともに企画したときの作品です。

　アゲハ蝶の生態は驚きと不思議に満ちている。とりわけ不思議なのが、青虫から蝶になる間のサナギの時期だ。

　死んだように無反応になるその期間、内部では、全く異なる体に生まれ変わるために、青虫の体をどろどろに解体する大改造、つまり、細胞の死と生成が同時進行で行われているらしい。

　3.11以降、変わろうともがいている私たち人間にとって、臨死のような体験を越える小さな姿は、生まれ変わる手本だと思う。

“The 5 Day Art Challenge on Facebook” The 5th day, I show you my work in the exhibition that I directed it as the commissioner with my husband Tokio Maruyama. The Pupa Stage 2013, Contemporary Art Festival in Itabashi Art Museum, Tokyo The metamorphosis of swallowtail was full of surprises and mysteries. The most mysterious was the pupa stage. In order for a pupa to be reborn into a butterfly, the cells of its inner body must simultaneously undergo death and creation; that is, a pupa undergoes a drastic transition by reducing its larval body to pulp. I superimposed mankind’s present state that is striving to change in the post March11 world with the small form of life that regenerates itself by overcoming the near-death pupa stage.

葉羽　とてもバラエティに富んだ思想性の深い作品群だと感じます。
