　滞在参加中のFresh Winds (アイスランド）。今週末も催しが盛りだくさんです。

Fresh Winds (Just now I'm participating in Iceland) has many expressions in this weekends.

【2016／1／15】The International Art Biennale FRESH WINDS From the Origin of the Earth / はじまりの地より　Yoshiko Maruyama / 丸山芳子

　灯台の中の円形のスペースでインスタレーションをつくりました。

【From the Origin of the Earth / はじまりの地より】

　この国で、ふたつの大きなプレートが生まれ、地球をゆっくり半周して私の国で再会する。強い抱擁をして、一方が地球に飲み込まれて行く。ダイナミックな地球の成り立ちと、その表層に生きる私たち。アイスランドの火山噴火も日本の大地震も、地球の繰り返す自然現象でしかない。それぞれの地に生きる者の再生の営みを、大らかな地球の流れよ、どうぞ見守っておくれ。

The two large tectonic plates that took form in Iceland slowly evolved half way around the globe in two different directions, and then reunited in my country, Japan. As the two plates tightly embraced one another, one plate slid beneath the other. The globe has a dynamic origin, and we human beings live on its surface. The volcanic eruptions in Iceland and the great earthquakes in Japan should be seen as natural phenomena that are continuously caused by the earth. Ever gently evolving globe, please watch over the restoration activities of the people who reside in your respective lands.

　北から見た地球。北米プレートとユーラシアプレートがアイスランドで生まれる。

The earth seen from the north. 2 tectonic plates ( North American plate and Eurasian plate) are born in Iceland.

　アイスランドと日本は、２つのプレートの境界線上に位置する。

Iceland and Japan are on the boundary line of the 2 plates.

二つのプレート

　２つのプレートは、逆方向に１年に２cmゆっくり移動して、再び日本で出会う。

2 plates move 2cm par a year, half way around the glove, and meet again in Japan.

　日本とアイスランドは２つのプレートの始まりと終わりの地。

It has the relationship as the beginning and end of the 2 plates between Iceland and Japan.

葉羽　なるほど。この構想を携えてアイスランドへ渡ったのですね。壮大なストーリーが感じられて素晴らしいと思います。
